In the Studio it just depents what kind of mics they have, I'll let the engineer do this one :-)

I use a rack mixer, I split the monitor and the clicktrack into two seperate channels,
I use also a "butt-kicker", mounted under my drum throne powered by an Alesis RA-300 amplifier,
this system is packet in a rack case wich is on the drumriser besides me.
About the click, I do not have this that hard in the mix, if I hear the click; I'm tight.
If I Do hear it; I'm not tight.
This works fine for me, I do not like a having "cowbell" on every beat through the music ;-)

Ok, here some additional information about plying on stage when it comes the ear protection,
You should check in ear as soon as you can.
I recomand everyone to use in ear !! I use custom In-ear, made by "Makker Hoorspecialisten"
Drummers / Musicians are getting it hard when it become's to loud noise on stage without using earplugs in general.
You can buy "cheap" in ear plugs and buy a cheap small mixer on ebay,
I think you could have wired in-ear for less than 100 euro's ! better then become deff ;-)
Ask in your music store for the in ear plugs as soon as you can !
